VPRO Medialab maakte een reeks korte films rond de vraag: ‘Er komen steeds meer slimme apparaten in ons huis, hoe beïnvloedt dat ons leven?’ Voor het filmpje Rita was een smart device nodig die vriendelijk maar dwingend helpt bij de integratie van een buitenlandse vrouw. Dat gevoel moest het dus ook uitstralen, warm maar ook creepy. En het apparaat moest er ook nog mooi uitblijven zien nadat het is stuk gesmeten op de grond (kijk het filmpje en je snapt het ;) ).

VPRO Medialab made a series of short movies about a recently arising question: ‘We all have an increasing amount of smart devices in our home but in what way does that influence our life?’ For the short movie Rita the makers needed a friendly but compelling device that ‘helps’ a migrant to integrate. That’s exactly the feeling it should give, warm but creepy. And the device also had to look good after having been smashed down on the floor (watch the short movie and you’ll understand ;) ).
